Trainee Hire Controller - a career with professional training in the equipment hire industry

If the above describes you, we want to talk to you about a vacancy we have for a Trainee Hire Controller working in the office of our busy north west London depot.
The Hireman is a very successful family business that’s been working in London for 25 years and we take pride in going out of our way to help our customers. We specialise in the rental of contractors’ tools and equipment.
As part of your development, you will receive an on-going mix of in-house and external training with senior management, equipment manufacturers and professional safety organisations. You will also have the opportunity to gain professional qualifications up to NVQ Level 3/4 with the National Construction College as part of our more advanced staff development programme.
The Role
- Respond to incoming orders via telephone, fax and email.
- Build strong relationships with our customers and use your knowledge of our products and services to provide appropriate and helpful advice.
- Use our IT system to administrate all hires and process paperwork quickly and accurately.
- Place orders with suppliers and help monitor depot stock levels.
- Assist your Depot General Manager with the day-to-day running of the depot.
Skills Required
- A confident and calm communicator, who enjoys helping others and working in a team.
- A high level of literacy and numeracy.
- Excellent IT skills with experience of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.30pm (with one hour in breaks each day) and alternate Saturdays, 8.00am to 12 noon.
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days paid annual holiday including bank holidays.
Salary: £18,000 increasing to £25,000 over the 2-3 year training period, depending on your ability and skill.
